Description
The construction supervisor's responsibilities include recruiting new crewmembers, monitoring performance and making recommendations for improvement, as well as educating all staff on safety. You should ensure that projects stay within budget and that required materials and equipment are available.
• Supervising workers, subcontractors and work activities.
• Preparing and presenting site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Assessing and managing safety hazards.
• Ensuring appropriate site rules and welfare facilities are in place.
• Run the day-to-day operations on the construction site
• Assist on the jobsite to ensure we reach our daily completion goals
• Fill out Daily reports onsite
• Take pictures and document the work done for the day
• Supervise the subcontractors
• Assist in gathering weekly tradesman payroll documents/new hire information from jobsite to submit to office
• Prepare and modify documents submittals if needed
• Can properly read submittals, proposals, drawings, specs, etc.
• Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
• Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices
• Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
• Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
• In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
