MDI Rock is looking for a Yard Lead is to handle all aspects of the yard, coordinating with the other yard personnel and its operations for our Queen Creek location. This includes, but is not limited to the overseeing and communication of inventory stock levels to prevent out of stocks, load accurately and correctly the first time, providing a key point person in communicating with the store manager for yard operations, assist in yard staff training and mentoring, following company policy and procedures all the while providing excellent customer service. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee yard staff and maintain quantifiable standards. Good viable communication between peers, dispatch and store manager. Load/unload customers, company trucks and vendors within a timely manner. Monitor and maintain yard stock levels. Ensure delivery orders are timely built and accurate. All material being received at the store is placed in proper bunkers or appropriate storage areas and weather protected as necessary Coordinate duties with yard staff to ensure productivity and effective performance. Coordinate and resolve any on the job issues that may arise. Establish daily priorities and maintain levels of expectations. Assist in training and ensure yard staff is up to company standards, regulations, policies and procedures. Maintain company safety standards and safety regulations. Inspect and maintain equipment- be proactive on equipment maintenance. Oversee and manage all incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries to ensure accuracy, completeness. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Well versed and knowledgeable in all aspects of this operation. Be able to lead and motivate yard employees in the performance of their job duties. The ability to establish and promote a good working relationship with customers and peers. Must have good decision-making skills and be able to communicate both verbally and analytically. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma Background in construction, landscaping a plus Must be 18 years of age Experience in using heavy equipment and forklift, on-going training provided PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the Essential Functions of this job.
