Hi, I'm Poppy🐾 (dog compatibility unknown) Sadly, I am set to be euthanized Wednesday, October 6th at 8 am. I have been at the shelter for 60+ days, and I’m suffering from living in a kennel for most of the day. I am highly stressed, frustrated, over excited, and continually leaping and bounding off the kennel walls because I want OUT! I can no longer tolerate living like this! I am mentally breaking down and need to be out of this noisy, chaotic shelter environment! It is inhumane to keep me in this condition…Can someone save my life? I am a 1.3-year-old, spayed, tan and white American Pit Bull Terrier/Chinese Shar-Pei Mix (wt. 55 lbs.). I came to the shelter as a stray and was a good girl on intake. I wagged my tail, allowed staff to pet me, did vaccinations with no issues, and walked to my kennel. When I was given a short break in an office, I was very friendly and solicited attention. Once, I jumped up on a staff’s lap, attempting to give “kisses”. While there, I enjoyed petting and practicing my “sit” for treats. Within 10 minutes, I was calm and quiet. Volunteers say I am friendly, like getting lots of pets and take treats nicely. They think I walk best on a harness. I need to be out of the shelter before I injure myself. I need a home ASAP where I have a chance to relax and decompress. The shelter recommends that I have an experienced adopter, that I meet the adopter’s entire family, and that I have in-home training. The shelter requires that I be an only dog and that children in the home be 12+. The shelter is full, and extensions are not being granted. I will be put down 10/6!
