Assistant, Maintenance - Facilities (ENTRY LEVEL) Corporate Headquarters Jax, Jacksonville, FL, US Requisition ID: 1603 APPLY: www.venus.com/careers (Reference: Craigslist) Maintenance Assistant, Entry Level VENUS is seeking a Full-Time Entry Level Maintenance Assistant to support our Maintenance and Facilities Department. This role is an integral part of our team, based at our Jacksonville Headquarters location: 11711 Marco Beach Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32224. Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday *7:00AM – 4:00PM - Including Some Weekend days as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. Perform minor plumbing maintenance (replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing, cleaning drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.) Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.). Reconfiguring, installs positions and remounts modular offices and space (furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks. Proficient use of hand tools and power tools. Responsible for moving product or materials. Responsible for ensuring the thorough, consistent cleanliness of all distribution center areas, inside and out, such as: bathrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, etc. Clean and stock all break-rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and conference rooms. Complete walk-through of all floors checking for cleanliness of the areas. Inspect restrooms and common areas to ensure that janitorial vendor has performed daily/nightly tasks. Clean and sanitize all refrigerators and freezers on a weekly basis. Complete detailed dusting throughout all offices. Perform high and low detail window cleaning throughout all offices. Clean empty offices/cubicles and set up/tear down conference rooms, as needed. Notify the Facility Supervisor/Manager of any items needed for re-order. Assist Facilities with various tasks as needed. Have great attendance, and consistently act & present yourself in a professional manner. Experience with 120-480 volt systems. Ability to safely & accurately operate power-tools and equipment. Be able to identify where cleaning is needed and when, with minimal supervision. Must be able to work independently and quickly in a large building. Must be able to follow rules & instructions closely. Ability to be present & on time for all scheduled shifts. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Office, Excel, etc.) WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee will work in both an office environment, warehouse, and at times, outdoors. PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Walk or stand for long periods of time. Bend, twist, stretch, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education. At least 1-3 years of related experience or a combination of experience and education is also acceptable.
