Denver-based author Brett Roehr will sell copies of his book "The Yukon Wolf" to raise money for the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center.
The Yukon Wolf, a tale of life and death in the wilderness of the Far North. The rebellious young wolf Arnaaluk is banished from her family for disobeying the rules of her father as two brothers, Kanak and Tulok roam the Yukon wilderness in search of a mate. On a certain day, their destinies collide. As a romantic rivalry erupts between the brothers, tragedy strikes and Arnaaluk is called home to help her family survive through a harsh winter. With the threat of hunger, rival wolves, traps and guns haunting their daily lives, the wolves gradually rediscover not only their true identity, but the true nature or their species. In the meantime, Tulok finds himself faced with the new challenge of taking up the mantle of father and provider, while torn between his devotion to Arnaaluk and his old family.
