A reception showcasing opportunities and facilitating connections for local service industry businesses within the offshore wind industry. This event, organized by the New Bedford Ocean Cluster in partnership with Vineyard Wind, will showcase local companies from services identified as high-demand by DEME Offshore US, the company managing the wind turbine Transportation & Installation scope for the Vineyard Wind 1 project. This event focuses primarily on companies from the following service sectors: hospitality (accommodations, catering, laundry, etc.), personal protective equipment, waste and facilities management (janitorial, security, etc.), boating products and repairs, communications and marketing, and warehousing and storage. The reception will feature remarks from DEME Offshore US, the New Bedford Ocean Cluster, Vineyard Wind, and the City of New Bedford. Open-networking will follow the remarks, and interested companies will be given the opportunity to register for the Act Local Program - a streamlined approach connecting local businesses to the emerging offshore wind industry, specifically, opportunities related to the Vineyard Wind 1 project. The goal of this reception is to allow local companies to meet directly with DEME Offshore US - a major contractor for the Vineyard Wind 1 project - and to learn about opportunities that can be met by companies from the Greater New Bedford region during their operations.
