Free, all ages, alcohol free, accessible concert series featuring Edem and Fission Quartet. Join us for this great fall series of concerts beginning with the lovely Edem and the cool Fission Quartet. We have distanced tables and chairs, windows are always open, fans blowing, and masks required for the unvaccinated. We always have free admission, parking, and non-alcoholic drinks available. Edem Soul Music (Edem K. Garro) is a World-Class Vocalist, Performer & Multi-Instrumentalist currently living in Omaha, Ne. Originally from the East Coast, and raised in the midwest, a large part of her music focuses on the ‘Creative content’ that comes from a place that can only be described as her ‘Soul’. Edem sound is defined by her use of many instruments and languages. Playing over 12 instruments including the Harp, Ukulele, Guitar and various forms of African Percussion, Edem also sings in English as well as in her native tongue, called ‘Ga’ originating from the Ga Tribe of Ghana, West Africa. Edem is a 10X Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award nominee, 2018 OEAA winner for Best Soul and 2020 Winner for Outstanding World Music. Edem’s work has earned her features in several magazines regionally and nationally. Including a spot as a finalist in a national songwriting competition with Lincoln (Luxury Motor Vehicle). With each of the musicians having strong ties to Black American Music (jazz), it was no surprise that they all were eager to continue creating new music after reading through just one of the member’s pieces. This jazz fusion group aims to push the envelope by synthesizing elements of genres like Hip-Hop, Electronic, Rock, and Bebop in order to achieve a unique and mesmerizing sound.
