Description

We have a 2-year-old Female Red and White Siberian Husky that needs more TLC then we can give her and are looking to move and we won’t be able to take her with us. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is very loving including with kids and other dogs, knows and generally follows the basic commands, and usually likes being outside the most. The good: She is very loving. She is a protector and lets unknown people know they are getting to close to her home with a firm bark but doesn’t take long to warm up to people and has never bitten or attacked anyone just needs a bit of an introduction. Rarely does the husky howl or doesn’t husky talk, usually only barks when people come onto the property. She will howl if you don’t take her on a walk with you and she sees you walk away this is the only time. Occasionally, will bark at passing walkers but not normally, she will just stand at attention. She will listen to the command to stop barking within two requests or so. Doesn’t bark at the mail man after introduction. She is smart and could be trained better then she is. The bad: She has some of the average husky problems. She likes to dig but has special spots she is allowed to do it in and usually stays to those spots. I found that if I put her poop in the holes I don’t like her digging she won’t do it again. She can be a bit of a chewer. We are able to control it by a kong filled with treats or other chew toys that you take time to give her each day. We add green beans to her meals to help control chewing and generally works well but she always thinks she is hungry. She has some of the puppy excitability still but normally is pretty calm. Still tends to pull when taken on a walk. Can tend to be an escape artist. She has been to all her vet appointments and gotten all shots but her two year appointment. She will have that appointment in shortly. She was fixed before her cycle set in and was not allowed to jump the first year of her life so that the chances of hip dysplasia were lowered. She likes bison and salmon flavors for food and has always been given high quality food but she likes her green beans the most. I usually get store brand frozen green beans. Takes monthly tick and flee treatment and has a microchip already as well. If interested, please reply to post.
