This year we will feature two DMJ presenters who will address the annual ethics material followed by a summary of recent updates to proposed tax changes.   Time:  8:30-9:30 AM Professional Ethics & North Carolina Laws and Rules Presenter: Arthur M. Winstead, Jr., CPA Participants gain a better understanding of the framework established for CPAs following the AICPA Code of Ethics, other regulatory bodies, and the North Carolina Rules for CPAs practicing in North Carolina. Key topics and case studies address: Authoritative Bodies  CPA Code of Professional ConductRules of ConductNC CPA Laws and RulesTime:  9:30-10:30 AM Tax Proposal Update 2021: What We Know Presenter: Milton Howell III, CPA As a debated tax plan and a key economic package circulate in Washington D.C., DMJ's Director of Tax Services, Milton Howell will survey the Ways and Means Committee's tax proposals as they relate to DMJ's clients and their businesses.This timely and relevant presentation will cover "what we know now" in regards to the various directions the pending legislation could take. Milton will also present key planning ideas and observations as they currently exist for those looking for guidance and direction.This course satisfies the one-hour annual Ethics CPE course requirement for all licensed North Carolina CPAs. Two hours of CPE will be granted for those who attend both sessions. *DMJ & Co., PLLC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
