A local aggregate company is looking for a bi-lingual scale house attendant. This is a seasonal position March/April-November. Position Summary: The Scale Attendant position is responsible for attending truck scales at an aggregate site. This position performs a variety of operational, record-keeping and clerical tasks with defined procedures. Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Responsible for keeping the supervisor informed of all incoming trucks and traffic flow •Spot Check Loads • Ensures all paperwork (weight tickets, control forms, trucking invoices, and billing of lading) are signed and completed • Collects established fees for cash sales • Maintain scale house and keep grounds clean/organized • Observes safety rules and attends appropriate training • Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) • • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. • Applied Learning - Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience. • Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. • Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. • Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. • Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy. • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers needs while following company procedures. • Responsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one s conduct. • Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following company policy and procedures
