Small elite contracting firm seeking a go-getting, construction labor/apprentice with a great attitude to join our team. Dyna specializes in high-end residential remodels and whole-house construction, including floating home (“house boat”) projects. This position is intended to provide full-time employment, and is considered an entry-level position. In an industry with a workload that fluctuates as widely as construction does, we recognize the importance of hiring only the labor force that we can keep gainfully employed. To that end, we need people with some carpentry experience who want to learn as well aren’t afraid to dig a ditch or do demolition work when needed. That said, we prefer to use subcontractors or temporary labor for the unskilled work wherever possible and give you the opportunity to advance your knowledge and grow from within Dyna. Location and Transportation: Dyna job sites are typically in and around the Seattle area and the Eastside. You must have reliable transportation, such as a car or a truck, to get to your job sites. A truck to transport tools and materials is helpful, but not required. Physical Requirements: Working conditions include being outside in all types of weather and inside of customer’s homes and businesses. You should be comfortable working on construction sites, ladders, scaffolding, heights, power tools and equipment. You should be in good physical shape and have the ability to accomplish all assigned tasks. This position entails field assignments where physical skills, such as standing, walking, climbing, near acuity, and manual dexterity are needed. May require lifting and carrying testing or other equipment, and applicable safety gear must be worn, such as safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hats, steel toe work boots, respirator, etc. Required Skills and Experience: • Some experience in construction is preferred but not necessary. • Handyman, general repair, light electrical, light plumbing, and maintenance skills are a plus. • Must be self-motivated, take direction well and work well in a team environment. • Must have dependable vehicle with insurance. • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record. • Must own tool bag, standard hand tools such as: skill saw, cordless drill, hammer • Specialized finish tools are a plus. • Must be reliable and prompt, with a professional appearance and demeanor. • Must be able to think on your feet to solve problems quickly and effectively. • Able to pass a criminal background check. • Must be fluent in English. Spanish-language skills are a plus. • Must reside in the greater Seattle area.
