T&T Construction - Lead Technician OBJECTIVES • Maintain and repair all T&T equipment • Maintain a safe and clean shop and shop truck • Responds to repair issues in the field and resolve or make recommendations regarding repairs KEY ACTIVITIES • Provide quick response to all requests from the Facility Manager and GFS • Fix and repair equipment and tools as needed -Often times repairs will consist of hydraulic leaks (repairing hoses/cylinders), electrical issues, diagnosing engine issues/tune ups, and chassis repairs (tracks, rollers, buckets, etc.) • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment, tools and trucks with help from shop assistant as needed to minimize downtime • Ensure crew truck and tools are working, clean, organized, and safe • Maintain a safe, professional, and organized shop • Make field service calls and visits as needed • Address safety concerns immediately to Facility Manager and GFS • Any or all other duties assigned by the Facility Manager or GFS KEY INTERACTIONS • General Field Superintendent – daily • Facility Manager – daily • Shop Helpers - daily REQUIREMENTS Behavioral Trait, Attitude and Skill Requirements: • Unwavering commitment to safety • Maintains a positive attitude • Attention to detail and persistence in follow up • Achievement oriented - Self-starter who is self-motivated • Vast knowledge of equipment and their mechanics • Desire to gain knowledge and develop skills to improve work performance • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine the best solution • Hard worker who is dedicated to quality • Sense of urgency in repairing and maintaining equipment • Professional, even under pressure • High degree of integrity • Good sense of logic/common sense and flexibility • Flexibility to manage constant change – multi-tasking • Ability to identify issues and resolve them quickly and effectively • Work well with others • Very organized with a passion for “neatness” Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds • Must be able to bend and crawl as needed • Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours a day • Must be able to work in the heat and cold • Must speak English, Spanish is a plus EXPERIENCE • Knowledge on any or all Komatsu, Deere and CAT equipment • 5+ years diesel mechanic experience • 2-3 years gas engine experience • Welding experience a plus • Bilingual a plus • Must have a valid TX driver's license • Must be of legal USA immigration status
