Description

Press release from the County of Rockland: October 4, 2021 New City, NY, County Executive Day wrote, "For MTA to expect Rockland County residents to pay even one cent more is outrageous, let alone for each of our driving commuters to incur thousands of dollars more in commuting expenses each year with a CBD toll.  We are on the same side of the Hudson as New Jersey, but we are New York State residents and tax-paying members of MTA's Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District.  Why should Rockland residents have to finance the MTA through congestion pricing tolls when the MTA does not provide us with adequate mass transit alternatives in the first place?  And why should we be asked to hand over even more dollars to a Capital Program that makes no investments in Rockland County?"
