Carjacking, Assault Charges Filed After Towson Lockdown: Police

TOWSON, MD — A Baltimore County man faces 19 charges in connection with the lockdown of Towson University Monday night. Police said the incident began with erratic driving. After 5 p.m., police said a witness called 911 to report a BMW driving erratically in the unit block of Stevenson Lane. That led to a road rage incident, according to officials, who did not elaborate. The driver continued on to Osler Drive and was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Cross Campus and Emerson drives, according to police. A responding officer was assaulted before the suspect ran away, police said. Soon after, county police said they were informed a 2021 Land Rover had been stolen from a hospital parking lot nearby. During the search for the suspect, police said Towson University issued lockdown orders. Before 7 p.m., Baltimore City police arrested the suspect, who was walking at the time, according to officials.
