More on the dangerous amoeba at an Arlington splash pad that killed a child: The family of the 3-year-old victim has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Arlington. City officials, including Mayor Jim Ross, have disclosed a lack of proper maintenance at the facility. The family is hoping the suit will raise awareness for the problem and compel the city to comply with state guidelines for water park safety. (FOX 4 Dallas)Skilled workers are in demand throughout the country, and one school just opened doors to helps folks gain those skills. The Republic Services Technical Institute hosted its grand opening Sunday at 4970 S. Merrifield Road in Southwest Dallas, just south of Grand Prairie. The organization's reps report that the $18 million, 76,000-square-foot, "state-of-the-art" facility is the industry's very first diesel technician training program.
