Former Hogan Official Indicted, Charged With Misconduct: Report

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Former state official Roy McGrath was on Tuesday charged with a slew of misconduct crimes, Maryland Matters reported. McGrath was Gov. Larry Hogan's chief of staff from June 2020 to August 2020. He was also the director of the Maryland Environmental Service from December 2016 to May 2020. A federal grand jury indicted McGrath on four counts of wire fraud and two counts of improperly using government money for his benefit, journalists Danielle E. Gaines and Hannah Gaskill wrote. The reporters noted that state prosecutors charged McGrath with 14 counts of misconduct, nine counts of wiretapping, three counts of theft and one count of embezzlement.
