AUSTIN, TX — An elderly woman was struck and killed by a car in south Austin last week, authorities said Monday. The crash took place around 8:55 p.m. Friday near the 7000 block of E. Riverside Drive and Frontier Valley Drive. Police said a Chevrolet Spark was traveling westbound on Riverside Drive and struck a pedestrian who was crossing E. Riverside Drive. Austin EMS attempted life-saving measures, but confirmed the person died at the scene. The pedestrian is an unidentified woman around 70-years-old. Live in Austin? The driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
