High: 76 Low: 60. Here are the top stories today in Des Moines: Fire crews spent all night putting out a large fire at Valley West Inn on Westtown Parkway. The first crews out arrived just minutes after the building went up in flames. They were able to get everybody out. Fire officials said two people were hospitalized and half a dozen others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
