Pittsburgh Father Abducts Child At Gunpoint; SWAT Team Responds

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh SWAT team members charged into a Homewood North home Monday night to rescue a baby that allegedly was abducted by the father. Pittsburgh police officers responded to the residence in the 7100 block of Mount Vernon Street after reports the father took the child at gunpoint and was armed inside the home. Police spotted the vehicle the man was last seen in at the scene. According to the city Department of Public Safety, police ordered the man to exit the home. When the baby could be heard crying, the SWAT team stormed the home and located the baby. The house was searched, but the unidentified father was not inside.
