Seriously, more than a century after the last wolf was killed off in California, a gray wolf was spotted in northern Ventura County recently. It's believed to be Or-93, a wolf tracked into the Golden State from Oregon earlier this year. The collared canine's tracking device went silent in April, and no one knew what happened to it until it was sighted in Ventura County in late September. Its resilience gives us hope as we monitor the oil spill off the coast of Orange County this week, which may prove devastating to local marine life.
