BOLINGBROOK, IL — Golden Corral Buffet in Bolingbrook is the latest restaurant offering incentives to people who opt to get the COVID-19 vaccine. A clinic will be held at the restaurant Oct. 16, and people who get vaccinated there will receive a coupon for a free meal. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 361 Brookview Lane, anyone interested can get vaccinated. The first, second and booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be available, as will the Johnson & Johnson shot. Walk-ins at the clinic are welcome. Everyone who gets a vaccination will get a voucher for a free meal — up to a $19 value — to be redeemed at Golden Corral that day. "We are continuing our efforts to make the COVID-19 vaccine as readily available as possible for as many of our residents as possible," Cindy Jackson, Will County Health Department coordinator, said in a statement. "We understand vaccine hesitancy and have worked hard to eliminate any misinformation after vaccine safety. The COVID-19 vaccinations are safe and effective. We hope this additional incentive will encourage more people to get vaccinated." Joliet's Golden Corral, located at 2100 W. Jefferson St., will also be holding a pop-up clinic from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 18. Vaccine recipients there will also receive a meal voucher. Those who can't make the clinic but are interested in getting vaccinated can schedule an appointment through the Will County Health Department.
