Join USF Botanical gardens for a weekend to find plants perfect for your personal garden, as well as to celebrate the arrival of fall! USF Botanical Gardens holds 2021 Fall Plant Festival October 9&10 TAMPA, FL (September 13, 2021) -The University of South Florida Botanical Gardens hosts their Fall Plant Festival Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for the general public, and free for Botanical Garden members and children under 12 years old. There is free parking for the event. Fall is a great time to get high quality, mature plants for your gardens and landscape! There will be vendors selling plants and plant-related items. Vendors at this event include local plant clubs and societies, as well as, commercial growers from throughout the state. There will be expert growers available to field your questions. The festival will have informative talks/seminars throughout the day. Local plant clubs will be represented and will offer membership benefits. Plants offered through clubs and societies include: butterfly plants, crotons, African violets, orchids, bromeliads, cactus and succulents, native plants, tropical fruit trees, palms, carnivorous plants, gesneriads and hardier shrubs to make it through even the coldest weather. Free Children’s Craft Area. On Saturday, there will be talks starting at Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on Florida Herbs, at noon there is a Growing with Hydroponics talk and at 1:00 there is talk on African Violets. Sunday talks start at 11:00 a.m. with Florida Perennials and Carnivorous Plants wrap it up at 1:00 p.m. For more information please call (813) 974-2329 or http://gardens.usf.edu The Botanical Gardens at USF is a non-profit, member- sponsored, educational facility. The Garden is open to the public seven days a week (except major holidays). The Garden is located on the southwest corner of the Tampa campus, at Pine and Alumni drives, off of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, just one block north of Fowler Avenue. The mission of the Gardens is to foster appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of our natural and cultural botanical heritage through living plants, collections, displays education and research.
