Description

Strengthen your shoulders, develop confidence, and reclaim the independence to live life everyday doing what you love! The purpose of our course stems further than strengthening the muscles of the shoulder complex. The shoulder is the conduit through which force moves between our torso and arms, and as such it is constantly tested during our daily living activities. In our six-week program, we will be looking at the mechanics of your shoulder and upper-body, and how we can navigate through exercise in ways that are safe and meaningful for you. We will be leaving you with the skills necessary to both strengthen your upper body, as well as understand the movement patterns that keep you safe and injury free! Our class is ideal for clients in a current course of care or those who are soon to discharge, that are being seen for shoulder or upper-extremity disorders. This will provide clients with increased access to guided therapeutic exercise, and education on shoulder & upper-extremity mechanics during weight-bearing, pushing and pulling. We are adaptive in our progressions & modifications for all of the exercises in this class, and we will be able to accommodate a range of mobility and strength needs. With two instructors, we have the flexibility to implement “pods” within our sessions, thereby allowing us to accommodate higher/lower level individuals within the same class. Our minimum requirements for the class are: • Pain-free weight-bearing in both quadruped and from a medium table • Flexion AROM to 120 degrees • No acute joint inflammation that would be exacerbated by physical activity Pre-Participation Checklist: Prior to the onset of the class, each individual will complete a pre-participation packet to provide liability coverage as well as gain more context on the individual. This will include an upper-extremity survey which will aid as an outcome measure for the class, questions regarding client health status, and a medical clearance form. Completion of the medical release form is strongly recommended for individuals who are not currently enrolled in a course of care at CorePhysio. CorePhysio offers one to one physical therapy treatment, focused totally on that client's needs and goals, by experienced clinicians in a beautiful environment.  Smart clinical analysis, precise treatment, intelligent exercise prescription and the right challenge at the right time. That’s CorePhysio: Physical Therapy Specialists in Bellingham, WA serving the greater PNW since 2004.   Our clinicians are proud to share our knowledge and passion for our work!
