Artportunity Knocks presents a Charity Paint & Sip for the Legacy Park residents to experience the joys of visual arts & community. Artportunity Knocks' mission: Empowering youth to make Positive and Smart choices while increasing opportunities in the Arts, education, community service and bridging cultures. Portions of the proceeds of this event will go to support Artportunity Knocks' mission providing art access in areas where the arts & education is needed. Visit Artportunity Knocks Saturday November 13th from 3:00pm - 5:00pm, Artportunity Knocks presents a Charity Paint & Sip for the Legacy Park residents to experience the joys of visual arts and make new community connections. The theme will be Fall Festive, an artportunity to create a fall masterpiece to share with your family and friends. Sip your favorite beverage and follow the awesome creative instructions from Carla Contreras. Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Carla Contreras is a multidisciplinary visual artist living and working in Atlanta since 2016, when she came to pursue her M.F.A degree in Painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work explores the human condition impacted by the uncertainty and overwhelmingness of our current individual and collective existence through mixed media works on paper and canvas. Contreras’s work has been exhibited at MOCA Ga, The State Museum of Pennsylvania, The Callanwolde Fine Art Center, The Johns Creek Art Center, The Lovett School, Pace Academy, The Coca-Cola Head Quarters, SCAD Art Sales, The Hambidge Auction, the ART PAPERS Auction, O/Art and The City Auction, and local contemporary galleries like MINT, EYP/100, Besharat, FreeMarket Gallery. Contreras has been featured in publications, and reviews for BuckHaven Lifestyle Magazine, Studio Visit Magazine, BURNAWAY, ArtsATL, SHOUTOUT Atlanta, The VoyageATL Magazine for their “Thought Provokers: celebrating artists & creatives” Series, Univision 34 Atlanta, La Vision Atlanta Radio and Newspaper, ELYSIAN Magazine’s Arts and Culture 2020 issue, and the AJC Journal.
