NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Sept. 27 through Oct. 3. The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Incidents A person was banned from Lics Ice Cream after they were reportedly treating the staff disrespectfully. A trespass affidavit was filed on Sept. 27, and the person was warned by police of the consequences of violating the affidavit.An intoxicated man was brought from the Northport Library to Huntington Hospital on Sept. 28.A woman reported she was bit by a dog on Goldenrod Avenue on Sept. 29. She told police that when she was walking during the morning, a dog without a leash bit her on her left leg, causing a cut. The woman asked police to contact the dog's owner and confirm the dog is up to date on its shots. The dog owner was told by police to keep it on a leash or in a secured area at all times.A man reportedly entered the back yard of a Summit Avenue home and approached the back door on Sept. 30. His dogs alerted him to the man. The man looked out his window and saw a man in his mid-20s to early 30s looking through the back door and into the kitchen. The homeowner went down to speak with the man, but he left. A similar incident happened to a next-door neighbor.Police saw a man pulling on the doors of Elements Massage, Salon Domane and Bay Cleaners on Oct. 1. The man said he was seeing if the businesses were open for service — at 1:30 a.m. Police, while speaking with the man, said they found out the man had recently burglarized a Stony Brook business. Police checked nearby businesses and did not notice any signs of burglary, and the man "did not appear to commit any crime at this time," police said. Police said they could not take further action at the time.Possible bullet holes were found in a basketball hoop on McKinney Avenue on Oct. 2. The man said he couldn't recall the last time the hoop didn't have the two holes. Police could not determine what caused the two holes and did not find any evidence of bullets or bullet fragments in the area.A black wallet containing papers and nail clippers was found at Village Park on Oct. 2. The wallet was brought to police headquarters and placed in the temporary bin.A backpack was found at Village Park on Oct. 3.
