Workshop to expand opportunities for education about Sarasota Bay in K-12 classrooms
Help us expand opportunities for K-12 educators to incorporate Sarasota Bay into their classrooms! The first Sarasota Bay K-12 Educators’ Workshop will be held on Monday, November 1 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the outdoor, bayfront Chickee Hut at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. The workshop will convene formal and informal educators and organizations that serve them to discuss how to make Bay-related education more effective, accessible, and equitable. We aim to connect local stakeholders, inventory what topics, audiences, and experiences already exist & identify gaps, and develop new connections and programs.
Lunch will be provided. Funding is available for substitutes (please contact [email protected] for information).
The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program is dedicated to restoring the region’s most important natural asset – Sarasota Bay. Since 1989, SBEP and its partners have had a vision of Sarasota Bay with clear waters, healthy habitat, abundant wildlife, and a vibrant community enjoying the Bay’s resources and recreation.
