HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Huntington Station on Sunday night, Suffolk police said. Christopher Simon, 25, of Bethpage, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet SUV southbound on New York Avenue when he struck a pedestrian in the roadway at the intersection of West 4th St. at approximately 9:50 p.m., police said. The pedestrian, Edwin Segura, 39, of Huntington Station, was listed in serious condition at a nearby hospital. Simon was not injured, police said. The Chevrolet was impounded for a safety check. No criminal charges have been filed. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
