Republicans (Trump) raised the debt ceiling almost annually each of the 4 years that Trump was in office. Now.... republicans re trying to stone wall the democrats on raising thew debt ceiling to pay off our debts that were incurred while Trump was in office. The debt ceiling has to do with last years debt, not future debt. Trump spent money that was not in the budget. Biden is trying to pay these debts off. Personally, I am all for a federal government shut down. Sometime es the extremes are how we find ways too get the gs done and find ways to improve. I could care less if our government shuts down for months on end. Sometimes you need things to break before you overhaul them. Republicans are the ones who benefit greatly from all of the federal contracts. Republicans are the ones who will suffer during a shut down. A shut down will not affect people like me in the least.
