GEN RINZIN WEEKEND VISIT TO ALASKA - OFFERED LIVE-STREAMED AND IN-PERSON! Please join us for our annual visit to Anchorage! Gen Rinzin, the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington in Seattle, is delighted to join our Alaska community in offering Dharma talks and teachings throughout the weekend. Come to one or all three events! Bring friends and family and enjoy a spiritual weekend together! These courses will be offered live-streamed or in-person. Whatever suits your needs. LOCATIONS: Friday & Saturday are held at Z.J. Covid precautions are being taken: please wear a mask, chairs are spaced out, and the teacher has been vaccinated. FRIDAY NIGHT HEARTACHE VS. REAL LOVE Friday, October 15 7:00 - 8:15 pm Held at Z.J. Loussac Public Library, Beluga Room, 3600 Denali St., Anchorage We often confuse the pain of attachment with real love. Thus when we experience heartbreak with the ending of a relationship, we associate love with pain. Buddha taught that real love never causes pain, only happiness. Learn how to love purely & experience the fullness of this beautiful mind. Cost: $12 SATURDAY HALF DAY WORKSHOP ABINDING IN PEACE: THE CLARITY OF OUR MIND Saturday, October 16 9:30-11:00am Session 1: Experiencing clarity 11:30-1:00pm Session 2: Stopping thoughts Held at Z.J. Cost:$25 SUNDAY MORNING BUDDHISM 101 Sunday Morning, October 17 10:00 - 11:30 AM PLEASE NOTE: Held at Namaste North Yoga 400 L Street, Suite 150, Anchorage Please join us in discovering some basic Buddhist philosophy and psychology. This light-hearted morning class is a great way to start the week and meet up with other Anchorage meditators. Everyone welcome! Cost: $12 Kadampa Meditation Center WA is a welcoming community of dedicated spiritual practioners, both lay and ordained, who gather together to find peace within their own minds.
