Purses Stolen From Break Room, Car Stolen: Loudoun Crime Report

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Several thefts were reported around Loudoun County over the weekend, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Catalytic convertors, credit cards, purses, bikes, scooters, and a car were all reported as stolen, police said. Several catalytic convertor thefts were reported around the county. 16 of those thefts occurred in Chantilly overnight from Friday, Oct. 1 to Saturday, Oct. 2. Authorities said they are still investigating the thefts, which occurred in the 25300 block of Pleasant Valley Road. In Sterling, residents reported several thefts from their vehicles. There was no sign of forced entry on the vehicles, but stolen items included included a laptop, sunglasses, money, a purse, and credit cards. The thefts occurred in the 45600 block Waterloo Station Square. Elsewhere in Sterling, at a store on Dulles Eastern Plaza, a man was accused of entering an employee break room. A representative of the store told police that he took multiple purses out of the room. When the representative began to chase after him, the man fled the store and dropped some of the items he took. Witnesses described the suspect as a Black man with short hair. He was wearing a grey polo shirt and black pants at the time of the robbery. Some of the stolen cards were later used in Rockville, Maryland, police said. In Leesburg, a resident said their 2018 black Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a parking lot in the 43800 block of Stoney Brook Square. Similarly, a representative for a construction company told the sheriff's office that a trailer filled with lumber was taken from a job site in Ashburn. In Lovettsville, a woman told police that five flags were stolen from the front of her residence on Berlin Turnpike. Authorities did not say what the flags represented. In June, three LGBT pride flags were stolen or destroyed in front of homes on the same street in Lovettsville.
