HAMDEN, CT — The 2021 municipal election is heating up in Hamden with plenty of races on the ballot. Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 and cast their ballots for mayor and town clerk along with seats on the legislative council and board of education. Hamden Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near. Ron Gambardella, 66, is running for mayor of Hamden as a Republican. Occupation: Accountant, Insurance And Registered Rep Family: Kathleen Gambardella Wife Age 66 Experience: Legislative Council At-Large Family in government: No The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: Finances of the town Critical differences between me and my opponents: Undergraduate degree in Economics/Accounting, MBA Finance, Vice-Chair Finance Committee, Member Audit Committee, Member Board of Trustees Connecticut Community Colleges, and Budget manager for former SNET and 40 years financial experience. Accomplishments: I manage 17 small businesses from an accounting and finance perspective. I know how hard it is for a business to succeed. Under my administration Hamden will be open for business and under new management. Other issues: Crime - plan to place more officers on the street with no subsequent impact on the taxpaying public.
