Playwright Richard Wesley, Sony Pictures Television executive Dr. Jennifer Turner, and actor JD Williams will speak on this year's "The Business of Movie Making Panel", while acting coach Wendy McKenzie will lead this year's Actor's Gym workshop. Additional activities include interactive artwork, professional headshots, and the opening ceremony and networking reception." Organizers added: "The Newark Short Film Awards offers a unique opportunity for attendees to dive deeper into the art of the short, as well as filmmaking overall. Participants from the tri-state area, and beyond, gather to network with industry professionals, attend career enhancing workshops, panels and more. This year's event received submissions from filmmakers in five countries." This year marks the fourth Newark Short Film Awards program and is the event's return to being held completely in-person. "We are excited to support the up-and-coming filmmaker and our event is committed to providing opportunities for the community to display their work and network." said Newark Short Film Awards founder Matthew Williams.
