ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police said they arrested an Annapolis High School teacher on Friday, accusing her of sexually abusing an underage student. Officers identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jennifer Arnold. Authorities noted that the arrestee, who is from Arnold, faces charges of: Sex abuse of a minorThird-degree sex offenseFourth-degree sex offense involving a person in the position of authority The Anne Arundel County Police Department and the Department of Social Services heard word of the allegations on July 6, an incident report added. Officials mentioned that they interviewed the victim, a 17-year-old male who now lives in a different state, on July 29. The victim disclosed inappropriate sexual contact with the teacher when he attended Annapolis High, the press release detailed. Investigators don't think the sexual encounters happened at the school, the write-up indicated. Police explained that they then interviewed the suspect and other potential witnesses. Officers informed that they eventually got an arrest warrant and took the educator into custody without incident. The Anne Arundel County Board of Education banned Arnold from the high school at the start of the ongoing investigation, authorities stated.
