Press release from the Ames Community School District: October 2, 2021 The Ames Community School District is currently searching for the next superintendent of Ames Public Schools. The Ames School Board approved Hazard, Young, Attea Associates (HYA) as the firm to assist in that process. In August, a request for proposals (RFP) was sent to firms that provide Executive Search Consultant Services to aid in the selection of the next Superintendent of Ames Schools. Within that RFP, key dates were identified that outline the process: RFP distributed – August 5, 2021Search firm proposals due – August 27, 2021Search firm interviews – prior to September 9, 2021Search firm selection – September 13, 2021Candidate pool presentation – January 4 -7, 2022Board interviews candidates – prior to January 14, 2022Finalist Interviews – week of January 17, 2022 Stakeholder Input To aid in the search for the next Superintendent of Ames Public Schools, we are seeking stakeholder input on the state of the District. Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA), the firm that is assisting the District in the search, has posted a 2021 State of the District for Superintendent Search Survey on their website. The online survey will be accessible through Friday, October 15. Please answer all items to the best of your ability. The survey is being conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, a third-party firm, which ensures that your responses are kept anonymous and confidential. Results of the survey will inform the development of a Leadership Profile Report presented to the School Board at a Work Session on Tuesday, October 26.
