PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police responded to three DUI crashes over the weekend. The first one happened Friday when Louis Denney, a 65-year-old transient, rear-ended two cars on Lakeville and Caulfield — injuring one person, police said. Denney had a preliminary blood-alcohol content level of .30 percent — almost four times the legal limit of .08 percent, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into Sonoma County jail. The second crash was discovered Sunday when Jacob Quintas, a 27-year-old Sonoma resident, was arrested on suspicion of DUI near East Washington and Grey Street, police said. "Suspect Quintas vehicle had new damage on it, and it appeared to match damage from a hit and run collision that occurred a few minutes earlier on South McDowell Blvd and Maria Drive," police said. The hit-and-run remained under investigation. The third crash happened Sunday and involved 46-year Petaluma woman Rhonda Jacquez, police said. Jacquez collided with two parked vehicles near Park Lane and Weaverly Drive, according to police. Jacquez suffered a broken arm in the crash and was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital. "She was evaluated and determined to be DUI, but due to her medical condition she was released on a citation to appear for DUI at PVH," police said. There was one other DUI arrest over the weekend. "The Petaluma Police Department had deployed extra officers on Saturday night due to special events occurring in the city and increased alcohol-related calls for service in the Downtown area on weekend nights," police said.
