LOS ANGELES, CA — A manhunt is underway for a 35-year-old man suspected of shooting three family members, killing a a 61-year-old man in Los Angeles Sunday.
Shooting suspect Jesse Medrano's last known whereabouts were in Bell, where he abandoned his vehicle and allegedly carjacked a a 1999 Toyota Sienna with the California license plate number 8WBJ565, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The 35-year-old is suspected of killing Ruben during and shooting two others during an argument Sunday morning at a home in the 400 block of East 92nd Street in the Green Meadows neighborhood, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who encounters should not attempt to apprehend him if seen. Instead, call 9-1-1.
LAPD officers were called to respond to reports of gunfire at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, and they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The two unidentified victims were taken to a hospital in unknown condition, while Marrufo died of his injuries at the scene, according to the LAPD.
Medrano allegedly fled the scene, and authorities have yet locate him or the Toyota Sienna he was driving following the alleged carjacking.
Medrano is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He is Hispanic and has brown eyes, a bald head and tattoos on his face.
