FEMA To Open New Resource Center In Upper Bucks For Ida Victims

SOUDERTON, PA — A new resource center from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opened in Hilltown Township today, which will serve residents of Upper Bucks that have been affected by Hurricane Ida. The new center is located in the gym of Calvary Church, located at 820 Souderton Road. It is replacing the former Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) that was located in Warwick until it closed this past weekend. The center is a part of President Biden's Major Disaster Declaration, which will address the widespread damage of Hurricane Ida. The federal government has sent more than $2 million in aid to Bucks County residents through the declaration. Those affected by Ida will be able to interact with specialists from FEMA and the U.S Small Business Administration for help in applying for federal aid. The aid is extended to those who run businesses, homeowners, and renters. The DRCs in Bucks County are being run by FEMA in partnership with the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) is also helping to open these locations through the county while people and businesses are still in need of aid. Parts of Bucks County are still attempting to recover from the $9.4 million in damages Ida caused. Hours of operation and further details can be found on the Bucks County Government's website.
