Description

DETROIT, MI — Traffic between the United States and Canada is once again fully moving along the Ambassador Bridge after police investigated possible explosives. Windsor police were called to the Canadian side of the crossing between Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit on Monday morning. Canada Border Services Agency alerted Windsor police after possible explosives were found inside a vehicle in the secondary inspection area, officers said. The driver of the involved vehicle was ultimately detained and turned over to the custody of CBSA, police said. As a safety precaution, traffic was re-routed to adjacent points of entry and the police department's explosive disposal unit was called in. The #AmbassadorBridge is now closed BOTH WAYS. Traffic is being rerouted to adjacent Ports of Entry of Windsor Detroit Tunnel & Blue Water Bridge. https://t.co/MtFpl51Zsa— Windsor Police (@WindsorPolice) October 4, 2021
