TEMPE, AZ — A Tempe mother accused of disappearing with her two children in mid-August was released from jail Friday on $20,000 bond, according to court documents.
Amy Harshbarger was charged with one count of custodial interference, a felony.
If convicted, she faces up to two years in prison.
Harshbarger was arrested Sept. 10 in West Virginia, and her sons were reunited with their family in Arizona, police said.
Prior to their disappearance, Harshbarger and her sons, Garrett Harshbarger, 13, and Miles Hammock-Harshbarger, 7, were last seen in Arizona on Aug. 13. Friends and family did not hear from them after that, police said.
A warrant for Amy Harshbarger's arrest was issued Sept. 3. the Greenbrier County Sheriff's office in West Virginia located Harshbarger and her children on Sept. 10, according to Tempe police.
