Description

Mid 30’s, Fayetteville musician here seeking bandmates for a post covid project. I’m a guitar player/singer/songwriter with hundreds of songs started, but I’m the type that would rather finish them out with a group effort. My writing style (or genre preference) varies greatly when I’m on my own, so it’s hard for me to say exactly what the sound of the group would end up being. But I can definitely say I would want it to have soul, color, heart, energy and deep pocket rhythm. What I write tends to be on the catchy side with hooky melodies, and I absolutely love harmonies so Im hoping to find some vocals to back me up. Check out my insta @jamison_powers to hear a bunch of my song starts and see if you like the vibe (they are here and there in my feed over the last several years). I don’t care if we use all or none of what I have started, if writing fresh is better then I’m all in for that. In addition to originals I’d definitely want to cover some stuff, but in a unique way. I love what the band Scary Pockets is doing with covers. As I sit here writing this I can tell you that my vocal is not at its best, I haven’t played consistently in several years and I’m a little out of practice right now. Same goes for my playing, but my hope is to find a group that can get together at least once a week and be patient enough to find that good groove together. I’m not looking to be famous or anything, but it’d be really nice to have a good regional fan base and be able to play out when it suits us. That is to say that I’m not looking to grind it out playing for drunks on Dickson every week. Here’s what I’m looking to find- Lead Guitarist- Super creative, musical director of the group, good with collaborative writing, solid rhythm+lead and hopefully some harmony vox Bass Player- An actual bass player (not an out of work guitarist), plays in color not b&w Drummer- Groove machine, pockets and power, lets me know when I’m tick out Keys- A composer of complimentary sounds, songwriter, harmony vox boss All spots male or female, age doesn’t matter much as long as it makes sense musically. Top points for reliability and a good attitude. Send me some files or links of you playing for starters, in this pandemic world we can take the first step virtually. Once we get a group going we can figure out how to meet up and have safe rehearsal arrangements.
