We love our neighbors as ourselves We follow Jesus by practicing compassion, generosity and forgiveness We endeavor to do God's work in the world We reach out in love to one another and the broader community, making a difference in people's lives by sharing, caring and being active in the mission field Internship description: The Spiritual Intern(s) will report to the pastor during their internship. The primary responsibility is to be physically present at the church building for several hours per week, generally in the afternoon and/or evening. The intern will be the “eyes and ears” for the congregation, welcoming the community into our shared space, and will be generally aware of who is coming and going from the building, and will notify the pastor or church leadership about anything that seems out of the ordinary. Under direction from the pastor, the intern will just be present. A church is a spiritual place, perfect for quiet contemplation, and acts of service to humanity. You may be asked to write letters or marketing materials for social media, to help lead community-social engagement and increase attendance at community events. There will also be periods of time when you are not actively directed to perform any tasks. You can do your homework, pray, (or not), and think about what you can do to help the church or the world, sharing our physical space. On occasion, you may be asked to do light tidying or rearranging of chairs, etc. during and following events. You may be asked to provide directions or instructions for people participating in community events (like game night, sing-alongs, or pot-luck dinners). This is a volunteer position, expected to last a few months with options for renewal and continuation up to a year. We expect the interested individuals to want the shared community involvement that this position expects, but a small stipend may be available to support the volunteer.
