Bass / Drums for 80’s Underground Cover Band

Hi there! We are a brand new band (lead vox, rhythm guitar, and lead guitar) looking for a talented bassist and drummer who are into Left of the Dial style songs from the 80s (and maybe some 90s songs that fit that genre, like Pavement, Flaming Lips, Frank Black, the Amps, etc.). Currently, our list includes Butthole Surfers, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Lemonheads, Pixies, Teenage Fan Club, REM, Yo La Tengo, They Might Be Giants, Camper Van Beethoven, Vaselines, Young Marble Giants, and many more. If you respond, please send us a recording of yourself playing your instrument and the three songs you would choose to add to our list! [Keep in mind that we are not doing 80s hits. We love Boy George, Police, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, and Van Halen, BUT we are doing more deep cuts and appreciating the lesser-known, more underrated songs, and are avoiding the radio hits (that doesn’t include college radio, of course). For REM, for instance, we wouldn’t choose songs like Everybody Hurts or Losing My Religion; for Pixies, we wouldn’t choose Here Comes Your Man, and for Violent Femmes we wouldn’t choose Blister in the Sun, and so on…] If this seems like something you would be seriously into, and you are an experienced player, we'd love to hear from you.
