What you’ll be doing: This project will be conducted aboard Sound Transit trains and buses. As a research surveyor, you will be responsible for counting riders as they board the bus as well as distributing surveys. This job requires good balance as you will be walking around a moving bus. This job will be temporary and part time. We work Mon-Thurs. Shifts will vary in length but you are guaranteed a minimum of 4 hours of pay even if your shift is shorter than 4 hours. About half of the shifts will begin in the morning and half will be in the afternoon, both during peak commuting times. Morning shifts will most likely begin in the suburbs and a car will likely be required to reach these bus stops at the starting time. What you’ll need: To be punctual. The bus routes to be surveyed are very specific, if you are late they will leave without you. To plan ahead. The starting locations change daily, it is important to plan how you will get there and how much time it will take. An outgoing attitude. Interviewers must approach every rider and present them with a survey. Cannot take refusals personally. To be able to maneuver around a moving bus. A cell phone to communicate with your supervisor from the field. An email address to receive the weekly schedule. A flexible schedule as start times vary from day to day.
