Farm/Ranch Hand – Property Maintenance Honest, hardworking, non-smoking individual needed for small business property in Southlake/Keller. Looking for the right person who is knowledgeable in several areas and able to multi-task. Position offers 16-24 hours per week depending on season and need. Starting pay is $20 per hour. Job Description: Farm Hand – acts under the direction of the company owner and would report daily to the office manager. The right candidate would be responsible for tending to livestock, equipment and shop maintenance/organization, grounds keeping and minor “handy man” jobs. Functions/Responsibilities • Feed and tend to horses (may include administering supplements or medications in feed) o Cleaning water troughs o Maintaining hay o Visually inspecting horses for injuries or lameness • Feed and tend to chickens o Cleaning water buckets o Checking feed levels o Cleaning coupe • Operating and maintaining farm equipment o Tractor (mowing and moving hay) o Grounds keeping equipment o Fluid levels, tires, etc. • Grounds keeping o Mowing pasture, lawn o Light tree trimming o Keeping beds clean o Other miscellaneous duties as needed Experience/Requirements • Recent work handling and tending to horses • Ability to operate heavy equipment • Basic understanding of grounds keeping • Current drivers license with acceptable driving record • Able to pass a background and drug test • Dependable and reliable transportation in any weather • Able to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs if needed • Available on weekends for feeding
