This is a year-round position. (We are not a mowing company.) You will be off on Sundays and most Saturdays. Good pay with benefits that include health insurance, holiday pay, vacation pay and a retirement plan. A clean-cut look is to your benefit. Lawn Care Technicians are not required to sell but if you are sent out to do an estimate (that can be left on the door knob), but you knock, they answer and start the service, you just made an extra $15, minimum. They will only answer the door, if you look trustworthy to them. If someone sees you working and asks about the service and then signs up, you'll make an extra $50 minimum. Our office is in North McKinney, near I-75 Central Expressway. No experience necessary but you need to be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver's license and be in excellent physical condition. Applicant will need at least one year of full-time consecutive employment experience, doing physical work, from the same employer. If you are doing something to maintain fitness, at the gym or work, then you will like this job. If your physical activity is walking to your car, this will be very hard work. You need to be able to pass a background check and drug test. (No felonies for violence or theft. If you have a history of drug abuse but pass a drug test and we hire you, you will be subject to random drug tests.) Basic math skills are necessary, such as being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, with a calculator. If you are the right person, we will train you. We will expect you to get your applicators license, from the Texas Department of Agriculture within 6 months. We will pay for the test, give you a bonus and increase your pay when that happens. We are a growing company and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. On an average day, you will arrive at work between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m., pick up your paperwork and start your day. At 7 a.m. you will probably call and leave messages with 1 or 2 customers that want a time window, and then you will leave with your truck, to treat lawns and/or shrubs. You will drive a 1-ton truck, with a spray tank for lawns and another one for shrubs. Sometimes you will spray the lawn, with a hose from the truck and other times you will push a spreader and spot treat weeds with a back pack. We also do estimates where you will measure lawns and landscapes and give pricing. We perform evaluations of lawns and shrubs and let people know how to have a beautiful lawn and landscape. A trained lawn care technician will treat about 25 lawns a day. Normally you will spend about 7 to 8 minutes on each lawn and then 5 to 6 minutes driving to the next stop. Most of the time, you should get back between 2 and 3 p.m. and then will get your truck ready, for the next day. (Fill tanks with water and chemicals and call the next days customers.) You'll spend 30 minutes to an hour with these responsibilities. Our trucks are maintained by a service company, but you are required to perform some basic maintenance and clean up after yourself; like making sure that fluid levels are proper, that your pumps have oil in them and that your equipment is in good shape. If a bolt comes loose on your spreader, you will need to put it back in. If a spray hose needs to be replaced, you will replace it. Fixing little problems, avoids big problems and means easier and better work. Training is provided. A good technician that makes good money is always thinking ahead. When you drive up to a house, you're thinking about where the best place is to park your truck, for easy hose access. As you stop your truck, you're thinking, I need to check the notes on my invoice. After you read your notes you know the next thing to do is pull the hose to spray the lawn or pull your spreader off the back of the truck, etc. You will train for about 3 weeks, but after that, you will need to be able to work and manage yourself. We believe that trust, integrity and a place to work, where you know that your co-workers share those values, creates a great working environment, for you and everyone else. This creates a strong business that will grow and provide opportunities for us all. If you believe that you have these values and are qualified, come grow with us. Call Jurassic Lawn Care - Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an appointment. 972-569-6980
