The Indigenous Peoples Movement is proud to bring to the DMV, the First Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Concert: DMV Edition
This urban cultural movement brings together the Indigenous community in the DMV and local D.C. residents to celebrate reconciliation and promote community for the 2021 Indigenous Peoples Day Concert: D.C. Edition.
In 2019, D.C.’s Mayor enacted Indigenous People’s Day. Last year, Virginia’s Governor abolished Columbus Day and gave recognition to Virginia Tribes.
This year, we reclaim our holiday in our city and celebrate Indigeneity together.
The event includes musical performances from Indigenous artists Myles Bullen, D.C.’s own Queen of Blues Carly Harvey, and OPLIAM! The night will include a concert with Indigenous exhibition and raffle to benefit the Indigenous Peoples Movement.
This event will continue to solidify artistic and cultural pride in Native American and Indigenous communities in the DMV for future generations.
Tickets are now on sale!
To donate items for the raffle, please reach out to Victoria Humphreys, [email protected].
