ABOUT THE TALK: A power-point presentation by Jonathan Boiskin about support for Israel i high schools in STEM education. Innovation begins with Education. The partnership between non-governmental organizations and the Israeli government fosters the education of 100,000 students throughout Israel. Mr. Boiskin will address the following: How his NGO strives to increase the number of students, particularly minorities, from the social and economic periphery who will embark on career paths in science, engineering, and technology fields; How an NGO can implement institutional and social change, by recruiting community leaders, mayors, and Ministry Discipline Inspectors who control municipal/state budgets to pledge future commitments to promote STEM education; How to create innovative school learning environments that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation, applying Project-Based Learning. While Israel is the primary beneficiary of this model of support, the pedagogical and curriculum models could be applied to New York and other areas of the United States, to address our own goal of furthering STEM education and innovation. .Please consider a donation to support the programming at Or Olam!
