Description

Let's take our yoga outside and pair it with a beautiful hike. Fall is here and it's such a beautiful season to be outside and appreciate the foliage. We'll start with a morning yoga practice down by Houghton's pond to awaken us and get our joints moving. Then we'll hike a section of the Skyline Trail (a moderate level trail) to Buck Hill, the highest point in the reservation. The Blue Hills spreads over 6,000 acres and its so close to Boston so we may be able to see the Boston skyline! We'll practice some yoga along our way and find a spot to sit in silence and show gratitude. This is a beautiful well traveled trail with amazing views along the way. Roundtrip is 3+ miles. The trail is rocky with roots sticking up so terrain is very uneven. I suggest wearing hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Please be prepared for varying weather and bring water, snack or even lunch. Arrive 15 minutes early and meet at the bulletin board near the playground in the Houghton Pond parking area so we can start on time. There are no refunds for this event. I am a 4 season peakbagger and have hiked many high peaks in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, California and Colorado. Spending time in nature truly soothes my soul and keeps me grounded into the rhythms of nature. Seasonal cooking has become my passion and over the last few years I have dived deep into a seasonal plant based lifestlye. My interest in Ayurveda and the lifestyle of living with the cycles of nature supports this lifestyle. It brings balance to my life and Ayurveda has become the prescription for my wellness.  My desire is to share my passions with others and let them experience  adventures in the mountains, on a trail or in their kitchen. Through my offerings, I am guiding people to find their own physical, emotional and spiritual strength to POWER UP.
