The Texas Department of Criminal Justice will be taking applications and hosting interviews at the STC 2021 Career Expo! Salary starting at $17.42 per hour with salary ladder increases to allow earning potential of $18.95 per hour in the first 2 years. Paid overtime available at 1.5 times your hourly salary. Additional 3% differential pay for working on maximum security facilities U.S. Military Veterans, applicants with prior correctional custody or law enforcement experience, or associate or bachelor degrees are all considerations for starting as a CO IV earning $18.95 per hour Full Time and Part Time positions available. Part-time positions available with reduced benefits Current State paid 100% health care premiums for eligible full-time employees, 50% state paid contributions for eligible part-time employees and percentages of premiums paid for eligible dependents. Contributions for eligible part-time employees; percentage paid premiums for eligible dependents Benefits starting after 60 days of employment Retirement options with employer match Paid training, uniforms, and free meals on duty Start earning vacation and sick time from day one.
