TAKE 2 is a collaboration between two respected film and cultural festivals. East LA Film Festival and the PIFF LA Together, East LA Film Festival (ELAFF) and the Panamanian International Film Festival Los Angeles (PIFFLA) are building upon a shared vision and expanding our reach and impact. ELAFF is produced by The East LA Society of Film and Arts (TELASOFA), a non-profit with the mission of "healing children and families through art and film". Through it's programming and partnership with Carlos Carrasco and PANAFEST, we've combined resources to expand services to the Boyle Heights and East LA area by working with youth in producing art, photography and film. This year through TAKE 2 PANAFEST and ELAFF provide a workshop on "traveling" Day of the Dead Altars. The workshop will be led by the ALTAR Maestra Consuelo Flores. Carlos Carrasco and Juan Escobedo are committed to youth, specifically at-risk youth, in providing access to workshops at continuation high schools, other local nonprofits, or wherever there is an invitation for this mission.
